Don't feel bad Woofer, I can't ski to save my life either. That Roman-Irish Baths is very fancy.

Bummer! Skiing is one of my favorite things to do although I've now missed two seasons. :-( I hear the snow out here (generally) is poor compared to what I ski in Idaho/Utah/Wyo. though.

you know, I've lived in Colorado all my life, and I've never went skiing. my parents always taught me that it was a rich person's sport...and it kinda is...

we went camping a whole hell of a lot tho. the fake camping, where we went in campers. not the real camping where we slept in tents...

It is kind of an elitist sport, esp. in places like Colo. with the luxury resorts. There are probably a few affordable hills, but if your parents didn't do it - they wouldn't probably be too eager to get you into it either.

That's what i was thinking. Nowadays, all the ski areas are snooty and expensive. Then again, you see all these "dudes" doing the snowboarding, but i'll venture to guess that they're rich, suburban kids who can afford to just hang out and say "duuuude".

In Idaho one can ski for as little as $25ish/day and lessons can be subsidized by the public school system... but it still isn't a 'cheap' sport by any means.
