This is the Tivoli, an old-school art house kinda like the Uptown there in Minneapolis and owned by the same chain, Landmark. That means that along with the old-school ambience it also has old-school small seats that aren't made for modern-age fat butts like ours. But we love both of them.

Love the poster parody. You look like the next Godfather. You said you were surprised this was the guy that brought you "Boogie Nights" but this is the same guy that brought you "Magnolia" too.(Watch out for the frogs!!!) But I think three of his movies deals with emotions from people whose souls are lost and searching for something to believe in. I heard some mixed things about this movie but everyone agrees that Daniel Day Lewis performance should earn him a Oscar nomination. Thanks for sharing your review on "There Will Be Blood". Take care & Big Bear Hugs.

So that's what the inside of the Tivoli looks like. John and I have passed by that theater so many times in the past and have always considered going in to check out a film. But we always seem to be on our way to something . . . else. Bear things, bar things, law things.

Surprise? I'm not hard pressed at all? The brillance of seeing Punch Drunk Love for the first time really got me. I'm so happy, though, that PTA moved away from his usual and embraced what was there.

There will be blood was amazing right enough. As a follower since Sydney...Pta has been my utmost following...Daniel Day Lewis is amazing...Paul Dano...without spoilers...amazes...

I'm glad people around us are FINALLY being able to see it. WIDE RELEASE PLEASE!

But yes...the film was wondeful.

Glad you liked it, I saw it last night and loved it.

I guess I see his hatred and rage as the primary theme here. Somehow the man is damaged- you can see how much he wants a brother when he thinks he has one...

I liked this way more than Magnolia or Boogie Nights, those ensemble films with interlocked episodes fail for me if some of teh segments fall flat.

I feel like I should read the book, Oil, now.

By the way, I am familiar with a lot of modern orchestral music and I really felt that some of the music distracted. The beginning sounded too much like the X-Files and I couldn't figure out why it should sound so electronic (whether it was strings or a synth). Some of it fit and it was used sparingly.
