Secured my right to bitch about politics this morning...
(I'm not going to lecture anyone about not voting... I honestly believe that the country would be a better place if people who weren't interested in voting and therefore weren't educated in who to vote for... Weren't pressured into voting. I'm just curious.)
Poll Election Day...
poll,
voting

Someone who votes, participates in the political process, and thus, has every right to judge, criticize and bemoan the state of affairs, BECAUSE they contributed to the system. Those who don't vote however, have not participated. They have not tried to make things "better" and thus, have no right to complaint.

I wish more people would not vote, and by doing so call the legitimacy of the system into question.
Voting shares the same societal connotation as the freakin superbowl. It is a big hyped up contest between two teams who are by and large the same. There has been no significant change in foreign, fiscal, or social policy in the ruling class since woodrow wilson. The facade changes but the federal government always grows larger and spills more blood.
Government is an unnecessary cancer.

You sir, are implying that the government-at-large WANTS you to vote, when in truth the ideal situation would be for as few people to vote as possible, thereby allowing that ruling elite to decide the course of events, without the input of the public-at-large. Personally, I believe that voting should not be a right, so much as a privilege bestowed upon those who have taken the time to understand the system, issues and candidates. To allow more people to vote, is like simply throwing more people at a problem and it becomes a simple numbers game in which the only thing that matters, is which team can throw more players at the problem.
