1.  Welp, my birthday was the other day.  I think this was the first birthday in recent years that passed my by without any feelings of sadness.  I think it was mainly because I insisted on nothing grand, no one (save my parents) sang to me, no one forced me to smile while I had to wait to blow out candles, no one threw me an office party (oh god ( Read more... )

1.  last night I woke up at 4am.  I sat there for a while and then I decided to go online and putz around.  I ended up on audible.com and eventually downloaded a book to listen to on the subway/bus ride home.  I was pretty excited about this.  This morning I pulled my ipod out to plug it in and load up the book and...my ipod refused to turn on.  It ( Read more... )

1.  It looks like I'm not going to be marrying Markus any time soon.  As much as I love that kid, I'm okay with this.  I'm pretty happy in my apt and my job and in my city, so I wasn't looking forward to packing up and running away to a place where I don't even speak the language.
