[Shirou is sitting in the Violet City Pokémon Center, looking out the window at the sky, absentmindedly turning his brand new Featherbadge over and over in his fingers. This was how many days now of the exact same weather? It was starting to worry him ( Read more... )

You've noticed it as well?

I think it would have been harder to not notice.

Bro, it isn't natural. Weather's supposed to change.

I bet a pokemon's behind this.

I know. That's why I said I don't think this is natural.

But what kind of Pokémon has control over the weather?

I don't really know, if they can cause nightmare fog, who says that they can't control the weather?

...Yeah, you have a point. It can't be any of the Pokémon I'm familiar with, though.

Today is the seventh straight day.

Though, taking into consideration that this world is strange, it may not be all that abnormal. Maybe the rainy season is approaching. Maybe late autumn is just cloudy here.

Or maybe the system is glitching! Who knows, who knows~ It's still all so mysterious, after all.

[...Okay, Shirou already does not like this guy.]

I don't think seven straight days of the exact same temperature range is anything but abnormal.

And what do you mean, "maybe the system is glitching?"

No? Then I suppose desert and mountain climates are abnormal too? Even the summer in general! I suppose it only applies when it's overcast and a bit chilly, then?

Humor, humor, of course. After all, where I'm from, this sort of place only exists as a game. One with... quite a history of glitches. [Of course, this is not at all what he means; he's just got no intention of seriously addressing it though.]

The temperature still varies. Here, every day has had a high of exactly ten degrees and a low of six degrees.

It's the same where I come from. But I don't even think weather was a game mechanic.

[Rin now has her badge as well, luckily. The stale air was starting to make her want to choke, honestly.]

Could be ghosts again, but I'm not sure whether changing the weather is actually within their power.

...The only other thing I could think of would be something with more power over weather than most Pokemon have. Or the power of some kind of god.

You mean like whatever it was that brought us here?

I don't know what brought us here in the first place. I've heard people say all different things about it.

...I still sort of think you might've had something to do with it, though.

Obviously, either way, something's about to happen. It's just a matter of what this is a sign of, and I'm not so sure it's just going to be a storm.

Everything here seems to be foreshadowed by the weather, yeah. Except when the Unown went crazy.

I don't think it's the same as last time, either. Drifblim and Rotom are both just as nervous as we are.
