I wanted to watch the Red Sox - Yankees game last night, but most of my friends aren't really into baseball, so we ended up going to a sports bar that has karaoke on Wednesday nights. Perfect. Well, half of us use Open Office, and a quarter are on Macs.

But bizarrely the spellcheck doesn't work on those that DO have Word - I looked into it and it's because we got the Welsh version...

I think you can set the language to UK English. Go to the preferences menu or the options in the "spelling and grammar" menu.

Can I just say, you've already designated this (red-headed) dude as kind of a tool or oddball or whatever, but that is one of my biggest conversational pet-peeves -- oh, I've never heard of that, that's so weird!! Even when it's kind of tongue-in-cheek or trying to josh with you or whatever, even if what you're talking about *is* actually obscure or weird, I still say what the fuck. I don't make fun of strangers to their faces for, say, liking Nickelback -- and even that wouldn't be (in my view) as obnoxious as trying to be cute by saying "what? that's a real job?!" to someone you don't even know ( ... )
