Ode to Late Summer

October’s clock strikes but a song!
I will not call you “Autumn”
for your season is not of change but continuation:
plentiful the scene - serenity of sky and

Such a historical country filled with monuments to the past! So often there are names I recall from my history classes, but for you to associate them with photos gives it a tangible reality. My favorite photo is the tree limbs snarled in the fence. How artistic!

The Christmas Shop ... I am seeing a few Christmas commercials on TV already. You know we have Thanksgiving in the US ... I fear that holiday is about to be lost. Christmas shopping season always began the day after Thanksgiving. Now they have moved it to the day after Halloween :/

Funny that I should discover your Ode to Late Summer on the first day of winter. Strange seeing the seasons fly by as I catch up on your posts. This is another wonderful photo tour, KK. I like especially the spiral staircase, the sliced cathedral, and the twisted branch. And the final photo of the Christmas Shop brings us into the present season.

Hello! Excuse the late reply. Christmas and New Year have been blurs of activity and a constant processions of visitors - lovely but exhausting!

I'm glad that you enjoyed the views of London. The spiral staircase leads to a wonderful food hall with every type of spice and snack and preserve. A feast for the eyes.
