seriously, where are the noir fringe icons

May 03, 2010 22:59

There was so much tv I wanted to talk about last week, but I kept putting it off and now it seems too late and/or I forgot what I wanted to say! So, briefly:

  • I am still loving Bones, and Booth/Brennan, and everything about that show.

  • Vampire Diaries is still awesome, and I was crushed that ( spoiler spoiler. )
  • fringe, who, bones, vampire diaries

Fringe was amazing. I vote they just make it a completely noir show from now on. I would be SO down with that. Hahaha aw Astrid. She's heard 'em all before at this point!

Dude, I remember reading Coraline when I was in like 4th grade. I remember being terrified but not being able to put it down. It remains one of my favorite book-reading experiences to date. Have you seen the movie yet? It's wonderful!

I am TOTALLY DOWN with just making Fringe all-out noir. Someone said somewhere that with this and The Pacific, Anna Torv really just looks like she belongs in the forties, and I can't deny that PI Olivia Dunham was as gorgeous as we've ever seen her. I would also support that the show just keep doing more of these experimental episodes in the future, because this one was just so cool! And it made us feel for Peter being missing in such a lovely fairytale-esque way. Walter can't live without Peter's magical heart! I aww-ed.

That was me now! I told people my book was scaring me and they told me to stop reading it then, but I absolutely could not stop. I don't read a lot of scary stuff in general, and okay, kid's book, so probably it can get scarier, but I enjoyed it a lot. I haven't see the movie! I didn't want to watch it before reading the book, which I've had for ages, but had just never read.

FRINGE!!!!!!!!!! I'm hoping that this means next year they'll be doing some funny eps like The X-Files used to do. I mean this was clearly a successful episode! Also I need to find some fic all about Detective Dunham and her lesbian love affair with Esther. Because dude. The gay, it radiated off her swagger! MMMM!

FRINGE!!! Yes! That would be awesome! And they're finally getting even their intended dramatic tone spot-on, so it would be like the delicious cherry on top of the awesome tv show. Which is to say, I've been so pleased with this show for so many episodes in a row now! I always enjoy it, but now it's making me *flailyhands* all the freaking time.

I love your icon! Astriiid! Olivia Dunham, PI, was just sizzling with everyone! I loved her partnership with Esther, the fic needs to happen.

    OMG THIS! YES!!!!!!

Srsly, ever since "Jacksonville" this show's been ON FIRE! So good!

I was just thinking (yet again) how much I love the writers of Fringe for making Dunham be the way she is. For instance in "Brown Betty" she's the PI (and of course she would be since she's DUNHAM, but typically, in most other shows, it would be Peter) and that's partially why she sizzled with Astrid. Because it was a typical noir setup, except there's two girls! :P I love it so much. I love Olivia Dunham and insane amount and I want there to be giant meta essays written about her.

You're right, in most shows, it would have been Peter. I love the show for not forcing a sexual tension in his relationship with Dunham: instead, they become friends, and trust each other and depend on each other, and that makes the potential for romance come more naturally. I am so in love with Olivia Dunham, too. I love her bravery and her open mind and her professionalism and her lady suits and her calm demeanor and when she shoots bitches in the face. I don't know why she doesn't get more love! Where are the giant meta essays? WHERE ARE THE NOIR ICONS? (Where are the vids???)
