"If this movie sucks...it's your fault. You made it suck."

Finished the Christmas shopping at Best Buy last night, and also picked up a copy of Serenity, which strangely enough was not on the display with the rest of the DVDs that had come out this week, but was buried back in the SF section. Huh, Serenity was on the new release racks at the Best Buys in Maple Grove, Eden Prairie, and Roseville this week.

(yeah, yeah, sometimes I have time between deliveries and pop in one to see what's out...er, and play "Call of Duty 2" on the Xbox 360)

I've seen the movie twice, and I still can't forgive Fox. Now, don't get me wrong. The movie alone is beautiful, but the 14 episodes built up so much suspense, so many mysteries. And they were all dashed to pieces in less than 2 hours. Although I'd like nothing better than a new season, I believe the movie irreparably damaged most of the carefully constructed plot.

I guess I'm lucky I didn't see more than one episode of the series before I saw the movie. You may be right, but I think there are still a lot of stories in that universe to be told, and I hope the DVD sales are strong enough so that Joss gets a shot at making a sequel to Serenity.
