Yes, It's that time again.

Yes, yet again, more about the Buffy!Verse comics. Now in my ideal world, AtS would go to Dark Horse, where I will never buy another comic again, and Spike would get his own series at IDW written by Brian Lynch. I know, dream on. Alternatively, if I can't have that, he would die a hero's death, and be left forever in the realms of fanfiction, ( Read more... )

As far as I know, this hasn't been confirmed by either Dark Horse or IDW.

So I have no comment yet.

Not that I find myself really caring one way or the other.

For me it would make it an easy decision if they did got to Dark Horse. I wouldn't buy it. Swore never to give Dark Horse another penny.

I haven't bought these comics in ages. The only reason I'm keeping up with them through fandom is because of the Herald.

I do buy the IDW ones, but must admit that since After the Fall finished it has been all downhill.

I'm a bit indifferent. I think the way DH broke the news was shitty as usual.

But as quality of comics go, non of them really has any competence left in my mind.

I kind of feel the same, and Dark Horse seem very unprofessional and petty. Not something I would support, and enforces my resolve never to buy another item from them.

I'm still trying to gather my thoughts on how I feel about this. Forgetting the stuff in the Buffy comics that makes me cringe, the potential crossovers, and the shipper crap I worry about how the characters would be written. Gunn and Connor for example have been given a lot of depth with Lynch. I'd hate to see Gunn reduced to a quirky Xander-like sidekick or Connor becoming a male version of comic Dawn. I don't think I have to mention Spike.

With what they have done to Angel so far in Season Eight, I really don't think that Dark Horse will treat any of the characters right. I have no faith in JW when it comes to AtS either, even if he did try something with them. AtS was never of interest to JW.

I think I'm leaning towards forgetting the comics totally and just deciding that, as far as the AtS side is concerned they all died heros deaths in Not Fade Away. *nods*

For me everything in IDW happened up until the Gunn/Illyria trip. Then they all got together to fight crime. And Buffys' still dating the Immortal.

Sounds good, but Brian Lynch pulled me out of the AtS comics when he made him human, but pretty much keep all his powers. No matter how that happened, I couldn't reconcile it to 'I Will Remember You', and human Angel in that episode. It really annoyed me, and I decided I didn't like his characteristion of Angel at that point.

The only reason would be happy for Dark Horse to get AtS is that I would never buy another comic from them, and I can let it die.

Dark Horse, with Scott Allie, will never treat Spike well. Ever.

Hi,

I've come to dearly regret, over the years, that Spike didn't get the hero's death he deserved at the end of BTVS: S7.

And that goes even though I enjoyed seeing him on AtS, especially seeing him finally get to beat Angel in a straight up fight :-). because he really didn't belong on that show.

As for the comics, I will only be buying individual issues (for the covers), or indiviual stories (if they intrigue me); which goes for BtVS & Ats; IDW, or Dark Horse.

They just ain't the shit anymore, ya know :-)

Still under Willow & Tara's spell,
Ray.

I'm become increasingly disheartened by the comics, and vowed never to give Dark Horse another penny. I don't care if JW is in charge, the treatment of the characters has been abismal.
