For those who don't know I alternate between working in town and out at site in what've we've nicknamed DIDO (Drive in/Drive out) I'm roughly on site every second week or so. We normally drive out Monday and head back on Friday. The drive is about 350km and takes about 4-4.5hours. That is to get to our accommodation. The worksite is another ( Read more... )

I don't envy you. We have to wear long pants and shirt on site. I'd wear a long shirt anyway because without it I'd just turn red and start to crinkle up. I was doing some wandering around outside today, it wasn't too bad in the shade (45C max) but step into the sun and it felt like it was slamming down on you.

All the vehicles are air conditioned though. Apparently if the AC breaks down, it's considered a safety and health issue and they're deemed to be undrivable.
