For those who don't know I alternate between working in town and out at site in what've we've nicknamed DIDO (Drive in/Drive out) I'm roughly on site every second week or so. After 13 years, I've finally left my office permanently and my notice is handed in. I am feeling strangely melancholy about it all.

So we have a lab of imacs at work which we triple boot into OSX, Windows 7 and Redhat Linux. While I was on holidays they got in new machines which two other people were looking at. It's involving network storage, we have an ongoing problem with the centrally provided system playing nice with Linux. Well, so far work has refused to sign a renewal on one of our software agreements. (Its only been on the desk for 2 months, so give it time) $600 for the renewal and now that semester is back, students are asking about it, but we can't give them the software because the renewal isn't signed.
