On the Freedom of the Will (Über die Freiheit des menschlichen Willens)

"You can do what you will, but in any given moment of your life you can will only one definite thing and absolutely nothing other than that one thing."

- Arthur Schopenhauer, 'On the Freedom of the Will' (Über die Freiheit des menschlichen Willens), 1839.

The world continues to turn and puppy stumbles on with his pale parody of a life. Admittedly ( Read more... )

sorry to hear about squishy migraines, hope they go away for a bit. It's nice to think there might be a niche job for you. I quite liked Roy Harper's ideas in his song "One of those days in England", not sure if you are aware of the lyrics, but I think they are wryly funny.

Every Wednesday morning, at about the hour of ten
I give the queen my autograph, she gives me the yen
The man behind the counter smiles, the door man bows again
Just another day down on the dole queue

But the government must love me 'cause they keep me out of work
They must be saving me for something special
Maybe it's the job of rolling spliffs for Captain Kirk
Or giving Miss Lovelace a pubic hairdo.I'm not sure those would be your choices, perhaps chief wolf wrangler or poet laureate? I do not think I am in my niche job, but it's fun to think that there might be one out there. I theorise that attractive male rock stars might feature or music reviewer just for bands I like. I suppose getting paid for it might be the difficulty ( ... )

Hm, I seem to have swapped migraine for slightly fuzzy headed snuffles at the moment, although they seem to come and go so not quite sure what that be up to. Ah well, hopefully I may maintain a sufficient quantity of alive to do such things as I needs to. At this point though I'm not sure I really mind what I'm being saved for, I only wish it would come along soon. :P I suspect though there may be potentially more money to be had in telling attractive male rockstars and bands how lovely they are than there be in professional volunteering! Heh, it do sound a fun song though ( ... )

what is happening on Monday? I must have missed that bit.
Hope you have energy anyway, it is very cold here, we went to a castle, but only for a short while as it was freezing.

Have a good evening x

Monday I have a trip to the fairy job folk in Scarborough in the morning. Has a bit of an extra nervous edge after having missed the last one. Even if it was sorted out without any particular consequence is still an extra thing for my already unnecessarily over sensitive reactions to worry about. Then I has to be back in Whitby in time to see job folk here too. It probably will be fine, I keep telling myself, but it's a tiring battle with my nerves to stop myself feeling too unpleasant about it.

Indeed, puppy feelings have been see-sawing rather wildly today, not helped by moderate cold and the horizontal hail. Hm, the weather isn't forecast to be too helpful tomorrow either. Still, at least shop wasn't too busy though and hopefully I shall yet survive today whatever stupidness I might create for myself. Hopes is not too cold and unpleasant in your part of the world and you has a good evening and a good week ahead of you yourself. *hugs* x.
