A Birthday and a Birth Day

Feb 14, 2013 20:35

Looking back over my adventures of the past few days I cannot help but wonder if I may yet prove able to actually learn anything from my experiences. That may of course be a somewhat selfishly introspective perspective given the nature of some of those days but that's generally the perspective my nature would tend to lend to pretty much everything ( Read more... )

Congratulations on becoming a step-uncle! That sounds like a lovely extra thing to happen. I am glad to read that you survived all the recent scary events. Perhaps you can earn from them, or maybe not, you got through them anyway.

Like me and the scary water slide (again) I had to keep in mind that I didn't die last time, so I'd probably survive this time too, it was just a case of holding it together as I was slooshed down the dark tunnel unable to control my movement or direction of travel in a way that some people apparently enjoy. Sometimes that is the best one can manage.

Happy Valentine's Day to you. I had some news of change at work which is probably going to be worse, but at least I can relax tonight, enjoy your castle sanctuary x

Indeed, becoming a step-uncle is an exceptionally good thing to occur and as extra things to happen go quite probably the speciallest possible. In the meanwhile I is glad to have survived also and certainly very much hope for something to come along that I might indeed earn from whatever I may end up learning. :P Hee, if nothing else though it's at least one more thing I can try and use to show myself I'm capable of doing stuff so I'll have got something out of my efforts however small ( ... )

doh! I meant to type "LEARN" not "EARN", I don't expect you to be able to make money from your past experiences, unless you become a published novelist or screen writer or something. Do they train you on that in jobclub?

Hope that this week is okay so far. I'm pooped after a long day at work and an emotional relationship with a book about the pre raphaelite artists. The trouble with non-fiction is that it's rarely a happy ending as everybody dies ;-(

But their art yet remains very much alive. :) wolfy_codex February 18 2013, 22:55:32 UTC
Hee, it was a fairly apposite typing error though. :) As yet however the fairy job folk don't seem to have done much to encourage my imagination to those ends but they do suggest tailoring my CV to every application and putting together impressive looking folders to take to job interviews so I suppose on that score they are putting the focus on creative writing.

So far the week here has been tolerable, if I feel somewhat worn out too. My helper elf was late arriving at the shop on Sunday so I was a fair while having to fend off the half-term crowds by myself. Meanwhile we are having people in at the Coliseum doing new and confusing things to our systems. Hopefully though I can yet manufacture the strengths to do something more usefully productive for myself this week than I have thus far. Indeed though, reality in general often tends to be a little less easily satisfying in its plot structures hence I tends to stick to fiction whereever possible! :P
