Japan Trip: Day 6
Today, we visited Hiroshima and Miyajima. Since it was my last day with them, my host-father drove me to the subway station. I took the subway to the shinkansen (bullet train) station, where I met up with everyone else. I’m really happy that the Japanese public transportation is so easy to use. Today was the first time I actually managed to sleep until my alarm went off. Unfortunately, if I want to get up on time, I have to be semi-conscience at least 10 minutes before my alarm goes off. Today we had a double lecture on the Japanese Health care system, which is very different from the American system. It is a universal health care system, but it is not organized by the government. I can feel my grammar getting worse and worse the more time I spend here. I’m talking in short, choppy sentences and repeating myself constantly. This was the first day we spent at the university. This means, it was my first time using Japanese public transportation to get anywhere. I have to walk to the subway station. Japan Trip: Day 1
Today we had sightseeing with our host families. So, my family took me to see the oldest temple in Kobe, but I cannot remember the name. It was really pretty. Apparently, in Japan, they have stamps at all the places you can tour. Then you can get a book and put in an ink stamp for every place you visit. It’s really cool. Japan Trip: Plane Ride
So, to get here, we had to spend over 22 hours in airports or on planes. And trust me when I say the majority of that was in the air. Ugh, it was a major pain.
