So I will be getting a new lap top as a grad gift.  I want a Mac.  I also know SQUAT about computers.  I am hoping my more technically inclined friends can help me find one that is perfect.

Get a Mac. They have the longest usable life before you feel like you need to upgrade.

You can't go wrong with the 13" MacBook Pro. It has everything you'll need (inlcuding the SD cards slot) and is a really good value for the price.
