If I haven’t mentioned it, I am green with envy. Printing terrain is awesome-especially for blown out tanks and such-things you were going to dirty up anyway. I really want to print my own AR lowers, but alas, such is not to be. It really is the freedom of your imagination.

Printing scenery is definitely job #1 for me. I think it's the one thing that really makes a game, and being able to 3D print it cuts down significantly on the amount of time and money I need to invest. The consumables are fairly cheap - the expensive part was getting the printer in the first place.

On a side note, I'm more than happy to print stuff for you. I'm developing a library of models, and my older brother and I went in on a kickstarter from Printable Scenery - it's 28mm fantasy buildings, which should work great for Warmachine. The nice thing is that I can then scale them down to Flames of War size, so I can always make some old European villages too.

Sounds good. I like the idea of 3d printing, but I have no idea what to do with it. Please let me know if I can help fund the project or support it in any way.

I figure it'll be one of those "I'd really like to have *blank* for my game/army/whatever" things - let me know if something comes to mind, and I'll see what's involved in making it happen.

Most of the stuff I have I've found for free or made in AutoCAD, the only files we've paid for (the kickstarter) cost a whopping $14 - for 14 different building sections and 5 stone tower sections. So cost for the files has been minimal.

As for cost of the filament, there's a couple ways to do that. My brother just sent me a spool that I dedicate as his, or if you don't think you'll want that much, I can charge based on the piece. The program will tell me how much filament a model needs, so it's really easy to calculate the material costs. It isn't much either - something like a tank runs around 50 cents to a dollar, and a full two story house for Flames of War is about $5. Even Warmachine sized terrain is cheap - the tower from the kickstarter (3 story) is estimated to be about $10.
