I am finally getting my shit together with some of my long-fermenting WIPs. There should be an Inception fic coming later this week, too, although after that there will probably be another long gap, because real life just keeps getting busier.

Thank you! This maybe veers a little to the left of a fairy tale AU, it's maybe closer to something like 'Beastly', but I didn't want to compare it to that because...um...it's 'Beastly.'

i adore this! i love your writing style, because it's so matter-of-fact and simple and uncomplicated and it points things out that we should have known all along, maybe, and i love your alex. and i like the modern twist you put on the old fairy tales; it's so rare to find a good modern!au with magic (even in novels... :/).

This was my first time writing from Alex's POV, so I'm glad you liked it! And I really had fun with the 'verse in this--I enjoyed taking a modern setting and putting in some changes because of the magic, but still keeping it very--well, there's a witch on the county commission. So I guess what I'm trying to say is: still keeping it kind of dull.

Thank you! I actually got pretty blocked on this about the time Alex moved in with Beast, and the only way I was able to move forward was by throwing White Bear King Valemon/Cupid and Psyche into the mix--it was enough of a different plot for me to move forward. Plus, I really liked the 'verse, I'm considering writing some original fiction with a similar setting.
