QUICK WORD ON ADS

I wanted to give everyone a quick "State of the Union" on the comic, where we are, and some things you can all do to help.  First off, traffic-wise we're doing really well.  We're closing in on 3 million visits and 14 million views, which is amazing for a 9 month old comic.  Of COURSE we could ALWAYS use your help in spreading the

You raise some good points about ads and such.. I'll usually let them load, but Flash ads can be a real PITA and I know many people (including myself) have extensions installed that make Flash items only load when clicked on. Dunno how much choice / control you have over the content that is served, but that might up your impression count...

Flash ads are a small part, and I can't honestly say how much they factor. I certainly don't have any control over what types of ads are served (although if it's explicit we do report the ads quickly to the appropriate authorities at the ad services).

I think advertisers may start to move away from flash, though, as apple is doing its level best to kill the format by not allowing it on ipads/ipods/iphones.

I'm a fan of your comic, and I run Adblock Plus. I try to remember to add exceptions for sites I support and visit regularly, and I'd like to apologize for not remembering to do that for your site. Error corrected.

That being said, your site is very much more pleasant to view without what I have to say is a veritable barrage of floating, moving, and otherwise distracting ads. I'm willing to make the sacrifice to support your comic in some small way, but it really detracts from the reading experience, in my opinion.

Personally I have an exception to your site for the adblocker, the only thing I actually use the adblocker for is for the flash ads that play a movie with an annoyingly loud sound file.

I am also an Reader and also an user of an ad-blocker. I will activate it for you, but not the Flash ad.

Follow Idea for promoting it. I saw it on other site. On the Background of the place where you place your ad you could write a text like that one.
"Pleas add the server vwx.yz to your ad-blocking white-list of this site so we could finance this comic" This text only appear if I block the ad.

Hm interesting Idea. what happen if the monster eat his small opponent and try to shrink. Will he explode if he shrink to much or could his paunch get bigger.
