"It's hardly idiotic. In fact, it's one of the most famous riddles in the Muggle world. Lucky for you, I've heard this one before; Now get over here and put your finger on top of the sphinx, so I can tell it what it wants to hear"
Ginny laid her own finger on the sphinx's head and waited for Draco.
Harry frowned at the riddle, and bit his lower lip. He had never been good at riddles like these, maybe because he had never grown up with such riddles. He moved to sit down and then let the question continue through his mind, hoping that Terry knew the answer to this one.
Terry wasn't sure whether to laugh or not when he read the second riddle. Oh, this was just too easy! How many times had people been given that question as they tried to get into the Ravenclaw common room over the years. It was almost ridiculously easy he decided, glad that Harry was already around.
"At least we're not being asked by a real sphinx," he told him with a grin. "Go on, put your finger on it," he told Harry, doing so himself.
"Good to see that you at least know your way through such riddles," Harry said seriously and reached ot to put his finger on the sphinx. He nodded in agreement at Terry's words, suddenly beng remembered of all the creatures he had passed the way during the Triwizard Tournament, and he rather had false ones then the real ones.
Daphne let out a frustrated sigh. Everyone else seemed to be relieved. She couldn't work out why, this was absolute rubbish to her. She felt like behaving like a 5-year old and hex something to get her way, or in this case, get the answer.
Pansy snorted as she read through the riddle. The Ministry certainly wasn't going to make it easy for them, she contemplated sarcastically with a roll of her eyes. Looking around for Longbottom, she stepped closer to the sphinx.
"Hello," he murmured, looking warily at the sheet of parchment, then approaching it. He laughed and shook his head, glancing over to Draco briefly, then back to Pansy. "That's a wizarding riddle, Malfoy."
He sat down on the edge of the table beside the sphinx and leant over to stroke it's head, then looked back up at Pansy. "The most interesting thing about the sphinx is how it affected the Muggle community." He smiled thoughtfully at it. "They adopted it to guard the passageways through which the Sun God, Ra, had to pass; a replacement for the lions which had guarded the gates to heaven in the past. Got the wrong idea, of course."
He fell silent, glancing back at Pansy and flushing. "Sorry...she was really passionate about the ancient world..." He fell quiet and dropped his head, caught in memories about his grandmother.
Pansy silently watched Longbottom as he spoke and chuckled, shaking her head as he kept going. He sounded about as passionate about this as the person he mentioned. She patted his shoulder and gestured at the sphinx. "Well, then... care to answer the creature, Longbottom?" She smirked.
"I rather think we need to tell it together," he said, and pulled Pansy closer, gently, then looked up at him. "Here," he said, and leant to breathe the answer into her ear. "We should whisper it to the Sphinx...let everyone else work it out themselves."

Kevin put his own index finger on the parchment and then forced the girl to put hers on it to.
"Man" he said softly to the room, before turning and leaving.

Well, perhaps being partnered with Montauge would be a good thing.
