Some Kind of Mage Guild Thingee[locked from hostiles]

So, I was thinking about the whole Kurata thing. We have DATS, and the Titans in Neon, but aside from that, it's mostly based on who knows who. And, having some organization couldn't hurt when bad things go down. I just came from a world where vampires might pick off anyone with magical talent. So, the magic users being organized might be a ( Read more... )

Well, if I could keep my job at the Silver Dragon and still help out Sasami-chan, I'd be glad to join.

It would probably be a part-time thing. When I was a Warden back home, I still kept up my business.

In that case, I'd be happy to join!

I don't think we've met, Miss...?

I was actually considering this myself. I had a similar thought when I first arrived, as you may recall, but I didn't have the resources to do anything.

I'd really like to open a branch of M.A.G.I. here, at least the information gathering and sharing aspect of it... So far, there hasn't seemed to be much of a representation for those in this world who're magically adept. That needs to change, or we're going to find ourselves in a lot of trouble should there arise a magical thread.

Yeah. I mean, I've met some nasty types back home, and Yggdrasil hasn't done the best job in screening people here. Even being able to advise the non-magic Tamers to break out the cold iron and salt or whatever would be good.

Tell me more about M.A.G.I.

Makes me wonder if there's any Orichalcum or similar minerals in the Digital World, now that you mention it. I do prefer to be prepared in the face of everything though. I mean, I can advise DATS and the Titans till my face turns blue, but sometimes that just isn't enough ( ... )

Do you know does DATS have as their magical go-to person? I can't imagine them not having someone on staff.

If you ignore the bit about 'keeping the public informed', sounds a bit like the White Council. Except possibly a bit less stuck-up. But, something like that would be really useful, especially if we do need to talk to people.

I think that's a very good idea, Harry-san!

I have my responsibilities to DATS, and even though magic seems to vary a lot between realities, it'd be very useful to have a group together like that. ^^

Plus, several people that can use magic have had some trouble with it in this world, like I did... this could be a big help for them!

I don't think DATS will mind if it's mostly for information. With there being so many kinds of magic, having everyone sharing information makes it easier to spot hostile magic when it appears, and find out how to deal with it.

Mm! I agree!

The less scattered we are, really, the stronger we'll all be.

That's what I was thinking. DATS has everyone, but a lot of the people with experience with Digimon. The Titans were mostly superheroes back home -- at least, I recognize Spiderman from the comics. Why should we form a group to at least share information.

Someone call for a beautiful sorcery genius?

Didn't specify beautiful, but I wouldn't turn down a sorcery genius.

Consider it a bonus.

I think that would be a good idea, Mr. Dresden. I know I'm not very strong, but I like the idea about helping untrained mages. Considering I didn't realize what Mom was trying to teach me until a year ago.

There's different kinds of strengths, Daisuke. If you can do something that none of the rest of us can do, that's pretty powerful, even if you can't blast down buildings. My apprentice back home will probably never be a combat mage, but she can do things with illusions that still give me pause.

Good point. I should ask Chihiro if she wants to try this too. I kind of got roped into teaching her magic, since I was the only person Captain Sparrow knew who had any training, and it's been a bit of a learning experience for both of us.

Hey, looking out for students is one of the things I wanted to happen when I mentioned it.
