really great books. Danny the Champion of the World is just awesome. The problem is I can't immediately think of anyone who fits both the books and the adjectives.

Parvati Patil is the best I can think of, and she's not particularly idealistic, just a bit fangirl-y. Someone who can make me seriously consider both Parvati Patil and Bellatrix Lestrange must be a very interesting person indeed.
