Fic: The Story of Vulcan and T'Khut

On the cusp of logic there were two opposing houses. V’lcanus followed the ways of Surak, their son strong and calm. The T’lkut kept emotions, their daughter wild and unpredictable. The houses quarreled regularly but none as fiercely as the son and daughter. As they grew older the two fell into a passionate love. Together they learned to balance their emotions and create peace. Their families however were not at peace and upon discovering the affair forcibly pulled the two apart. Hidden at opposite ends of the land they psychically mourned for each other causing great pain and distress to all their neighbours for all time. The legend of their distress passed from village to village and soon the son and daughter came to be known as Vulcan and T’khut the planets forever kept apart but longing for the other.

“Huh, they look like us.” Uhura traced the hand-inked images on the parchment with one finger.
“A coincidence.”
“And you had it bookmarked because you just…liked the story hm?” she arched an eyebrow. Spock arched back.
“It was my favourite as a child.”
“Sure V’lcanus. Read me some more before I start preaching the ways of emotions and corrupt you.”
