[He might not have noticed, but Kaldur certainly did. He was taking the day to visit some of the classes, late as he entered he was not attending yet, but wanted to learn.
But it was very hard indeed to not notice someone walking...like that. Missing such a large portion of their body. He's staring. It's rude. But he cannot help it.]
[Being caught doing something like that only makes you feel more embarrassed.]
I apologize for the rude behavior, sir. But I've never seen someone [missing half of their body and not concerned by it]...like you. I'll be less discourteous.
[ Aerith has been seeing some more unusual things lately--but actually her attention is solely on her feet right now, because one of those unusual things is taking place all around her.
The stray flowers, if mysterious, had been a scarce surprise during the last week. Now they were coming in full force, springing up as she walked, and if she wasn't careful (or, as one plant would prove now, even if she was)--
She might trip.
Straight into someone, knocking them both over, and Aerith's already apologizing with a bit of humor to cover up the embarrassment, ] Sorry, green thumb's giving me two left feet!
[ but then she registers that she's speaking only to a pair of legs. Oh, they're dressed fairly nicely, but that's not the point, the point is she's talking to a disembodied pair of legs, she knocked someone's legs clean off them--!
Aerith's wits don't catch onto the absurdity of that idea fast enough to stop a startled yelp from her as she scrambles back to her feet, looking around as though to find the missing upper half. ]
[Clark doesn't understand what is she so scared of, so he assumes he hurt her. It wouldn't be that weird, if she stumbled onto him rather hard she could have broken her nose... or her arm or-]
[ With the direction the sound comes from, Aerith's eyes fasten on the legs again. ] I'm fine, but he's--! [ --wait. That voice was coming from... her surprised look rises to about eye level. ] You're...? Are... are you okay, sir? There's--your legs. [ She makes a weak gesture at them. They don't seem to be attached to anything.]
Yes, I'm- [But as soon as he says that, he isn't fine any more. He starts feeling... sick, like energy's being drained for him. He isn't used to feeling ill- he never gets sick.
His upper body slowly reappears.] I... I think I need to lie down.

[Unless him being alien is that obvious, but he doubts it.]

... Well it seems like SOMEONE certainly did. She was paused in place as she just stared. Stared at this man who's half invisible. ]
