[Ariel had peeked in on the dance. It looked like a lot of fun! But somehow it just made her a bit homesick. So many people... She'd never been to a dance where her father wasn't presiding before. Where her sisters and her didn't sing and Sebastian didn't get knocked into the salad and Flounder showed her all the latest moves

[Japan was never one for social get togethers. He had poked in, taken some pictures, and left just as quickly. Really, why had he worn a suit just to take pictures like that...

He didn't quite want to go to his room when he knew it was shared. So he had planned on a walk around Garden, but he hadn't expected to see Ariel. Let alone Ariel in the fountain.

He paused mid-tie-loosening and stared.]

[Oh. Well. PARTY CRASHED. Brb flailing and splashing around what is he doing out here. Okay once she's done half drowning in surprise she will push her bangs out of her face and look up.]

[The Homecoming dance had sounded nice, and though it seemed as if everyone was in attendance, no matter what they did in the Garden, Tiana ... wasn't. She had helped prepare some dishes, and let those hired serve them and then just disappeared. Not even speaking a word.

It sounded like a wonderful dance -- and it looked to be, too, from what she had seen! -- but she just didn't feel like attending. The reason wasn't work, like it would've been a couple of months ago, but a much deeper longing for her husband. He was the life of the party more often then not, the one who she could share her enjoyment with at the end of the day. But he wasn't here.Tonight just really brought home the fact that she might never see him again and it broke her heart

[She moves her hair out of her face, and gets a good glance at Arial. Surprise colours her features.]

[ Jade sat on the edge of the fountain, watching enviously. Who was this girl, and how could she swim so well? Jade couldn't swim well at all -- it had never occurred to Bro or to her that it might be necessary one day, beyond the obligatory learning to doggy paddle. ]
