It sounded like a wonderful dance -- and it looked to be, too, from what she had seen! -- but she just didn't feel like attending. The reason wasn't work, like it would've been a couple of months ago, but a much deeper longing for her husband. He was the life of the party more often then not, the one who she could share her enjoyment with at the end of the day. But he wasn't here.
Tonight just really brought home the fact that she might never see him again and it broke her heart.
With her mind drifting back to Naveen, New Orleans, as well as their family and friends, Tiana made her way outside and sat beside the fountain in thought. She was sure Naveen would be chiding her for giving up such a great opportunity, but it hurt too much to even think about it. Maybe the next party...
