[Despite waking up in a new, bizarre place, and suddenly being dropped at what looks like a giant floating holiday ornament, Mitsuru is remarkably well collected

[The average height in Japan is at least five feet seven inches. It doesn't really register with Mitsuru that she'd need to look lower then that when someone is speaking to her. She does, however, manage to look marginally offended as she turns towards the voice.]
"Even if I am, a full circuit should have been enough to memorize and-"
"It's a goal that should be aspired to, either way."
[Mitsuru says that as she realizes that voice is actually coming from much lower then she thought. That alone is a bit odd, making her raise an eyebrow as glances down, and-]
[French? Hermione had picked up a bit of french during her primary schooling, and is intrigued to hear the language being spoken here of all places. So, with cautious curiosity, Hermione approaches the redhead.]

{Mitsuru is still frowning over the Garden layout; so unlike the neat, grid style building plans she's used to. She still registers the new voice, however, and turns around to look at the speaker.]
"Mm?"
[She gives her a quick glance over, before continuing.]
"No, I'm not."
[Although...It is a bit thrilling to think her pronunciation is so convincing! Perhaps she is getting proficient in the language, enough to justify a trip to Paris, and-
Ahem. Focus, Kirijo.]
"I have a passion for the language and the culture, however. Enough to study it frequently."
[There's a quick blink, as she processes that question, but Mitsuru still nods.]
"...Yes."
[Likewise, after that first shock, she's quick to pick up on some clues and implications of her own. Apparently, this place is drawing from more then one place to bring people in. Though the pink talking animal from earlier was a bit of a hint.]
"Japan, specifically."
[Another once over. And a few more conclusions are drawn.]
"And I take it that you originally were from somewhere in the western hemisphere?"
[Heeled boots, actually. It helps with height AND presence.]
"That is encouraging to hear."
[She glances over long enough to say that, before turning back to puzzle over the layout. Circles are likely going to haunt her dreams tonight. And color coded lines.
She keeps her eyes on the board when she speaks again.]
[Her eyes slid over to the side when she hears that, not fully looking at him, although she gives a slight nod in response to that observation. But, once her sense of direction is called into question, she does turn to fully look at him.]
"No, I am not lost. I am determining the layout of this place."
[And she does not look pleased about it. Or angry, actually. More of slight irritation, more then anything else.]
"...It's simply proving to be more difficult then I thought."
['But I WILL figure it out in short order' her tone says for her.]
[A painted, well manicured fingernail taps the directory. And since this is thankfully a mobile Garden, there is no insta-fourthwall-shattering-teleport.]
"The terms and coloring are helpful enough. But, some of this is proving to be difficult to associate with. It's...Not the sort of school I'm used to."
[The similarities, so far, start and stop with standard uniforms.]

[So says a three foot pink lizard wearing the Garden's uniform jacket. He looks kinda tired.]
You're just new.

Uh. You could try looking at me.

So you're from Earth? [Such a strange question to ask, but a common inquiry these days considering the various origins of the off-worlder cadets.]

Good afternoon, ma'am. You're new, I'm guessing?

[She says in return. And dips her head once, slightly, in a nod.]
"Yes...I only just arrived here."

Welcome, then! This place.. is certainly odd, but hopefully you'll manage. I've only been here for a couple weeks.

Still, she's not without her manners. She dips her head again in acknowledgment of that welcome.]
"Thank you. I should adapt quickly as well; it would be a mark against me if I couldn't."

[ Heels do help with presence and announcing your arrival. She approves of this. ]
And I'd suppose you just arrived.

[Another glance over at the newcomer.]
"If I may ask, how long did it take you to memorize all of this?"
[She may as well start getting information and statistics to gauge herself against.]
