[Despite waking up in a new, bizarre place, and suddenly being dropped at what looks like a giant floating holiday ornament, Mitsuru is remarkably well collected

[French? Hermione had picked up a bit of french during her primary schooling, and is intrigued to hear the language being spoken here of all places. So, with cautious curiosity, Hermione approaches the redhead.]

{Mitsuru is still frowning over the Garden layout; so unlike the neat, grid style building plans she's used to. She still registers the new voice, however, and turns around to look at the speaker.]
"Mm?"
[She gives her a quick glance over, before continuing.]
"No, I'm not."
[Although...It is a bit thrilling to think her pronunciation is so convincing! Perhaps she is getting proficient in the language, enough to justify a trip to Paris, and-
Ahem. Focus, Kirijo.]
"I have a passion for the language and the culture, however. Enough to study it frequently."
[There's a quick blink, as she processes that question, but Mitsuru still nods.]
"...Yes."
[Likewise, after that first shock, she's quick to pick up on some clues and implications of her own. Apparently, this place is drawing from more then one place to bring people in. Though the pink talking animal from earlier was a bit of a hint.]
"Japan, specifically."
[Another once over. And a few more conclusions are drawn.]
"And I take it that you originally were from somewhere in the western hemisphere?"
[Hermione is quite glad to hear that this girl is, in fact, from the same world as her. Even if they haven't spoken for long, that one fact was enough for Hermione to feel some kind of connection to the female.]
[Unfortunately, personal connections and Mitsuru aren't something that come together easily.
At least, not until Europe is brought into the equation. Mitsuru realizes that her expression is slipping enough to show some clear interest, but still allows it. (Albiet, that interest isn't much more then a flicker in her eyes and a brief almost-smile, but still!)]
"Correct. I'm working on familiarizing myself with this place."
Welcome to Garden, then. I've actually been here for several months now and I've also done a fair bit of reading up on the history of this world as well as Garden itself, so if you have any questions I could assist you.
[It's not until then that Hermione realizes she hasn't introduced herself yet, and she quickly seeks to amend that.]
Oh! Pardon my manners-- my name is Hermione Granger; it's a pleasure to meet you.
[Asking for help...Well, trying to do still sticks in her throat. It would be nice if she could educate herself without any assistance, but that is beginning to feel as likely as scaling Tartarus by herself.]
"Ah, yes; I should introduce myself as well. My name is Mitsuru Kirijo. A pleasure, Miss Granger."
[Hermione gives a small smile. An awkward sort of silence passes between them, though before finally Hermione speaks up:]
Pardon me, I have to go and return these books to the library. But I live in dormitory B111 if you have any questions. It was nice meeting you, Mitsuru.
Excuse me... are you from France?

So you're from Earth? [Such a strange question to ask, but a common inquiry these days considering the various origins of the off-worlder cadets.]

"Indeed. I wouldn't want you to be late or overdue because of me."
[Prompt book returns are serious business, after all.]
"Likewise. Good day to you then, Miss Granger."
