[Event Action] Dormitory Defense

Nov 30, 2010 15:00

Bring it on!

[So echoes the challenge issued by the cocky Instructor standing outside the dormitory, fists balled and a grin on his face as he stands guard over the door. Come close enough or catch his attention and he has this to say:]I'll hold down the fort here. Anyone who needs shelter or safety can camp out in the rooms. Anyone who's hurt, ( Read more... )

And what are you gonna do, Instructor? Letting the "kids" do all the work?

[Despite his accusatory words, his actual tone is light and half-hearted. He knows exactly what Snow's doing, and he can't argue. As the resident complainer, however, it's his duty to find something to complain about.

And what's Espio doing? He's sort of half-way out the door, torn between actually taking action like usual and sitting this one out. Hey, he's cold-blooded - extreme cold just isn't the best condition to be working in.]

Lazy as sin, that's me. [He grins]

It's only gonna get colder. You might wanna work on some heat -- or find someone who can Junction ice-elemental defense.

[On that note, he yanks the scarf out of his belt to offer it up. Who knew it wasn't strictly ornamental?]

[Huh, he knows why he's hesitating? He's smarter than Espio gave him credit for... but he still gives him a sceptical look.]

A scarf won't do much for me. I'm cold blooded - I don't have much heat to keep in. Ice defense, however, that could work...

If I had more blizzards.

Uh, you can draw Ice spells from me.

Long story why.

If you do, don't touch Shiva. [He's deadly serious on this one. That hurts like hell.]

[And there goes that Phoenix, zooming down the corridor and occasionally tackle-kicking the hell out of things.]

Croo? [Oh hey there teacher.]

[Good man bird. Snow raises a fist in a victory salute.]

If you can find some spare objects to burn, let me know! It'd be a good idea to start a contained fire somewhere for heat.

[A head tilt and then brings him back some wood. And actually switches back to human!]

I can't really set fires though, just so you know. Well I can try with paramagic, but that's more Ace's thing.

[Snow actually fumbles a punch on a Gayla when he sees that.]

I had a feeling you were yanking my chain this entire time!

[He doesn't seem mad. And he chains Ruin-casts onto the Gayla till it explodes, so no harm no foul.]

[He's just going to stand here and watch. And amuse himself.]

Having fun babying your charges?

[For a brief moment he considers returning something snippy back, but then it occurs to him he's going about this the wrong way.]

[So he flashes a grin and a victory-pump of the fist to Seifer]

Heroes never back down!

Also, Grat right behind you.

Of course they don't. That's not a new theory or anything. You gotta keep your dream in mind and follow through on achieving it. Nothing else matters after that.

[He ignores the warning about the Grat, because really, it would be foolish of him to be unaware. But it's only a brief second before it approaches and Seifer takes out Hyperion, splitting it into two.]

Getting rusty at this. Anyway, you were saying?

Huh.

[Snow eyes Seifer for a long minute, reassessing, before shaking his head]

That's the most sensible thing I've heard out of anyone since I got here.

Kinda scary.

[Akiela strides past Snow, tightening a glove strap on her hand before letting it fall to her side. She'll also shake her head a little at him.

Weren't monster invasions supposed to be a serious matter? She'll never get used to the informality present in the Garden.]

You seem to be having fun.

Better than sitting here worrying about everything that could be going wrong that I can't help!

[Which he is, actually. But he's set himself a task and a duty; so long as he can focus on those, he can keep moving forward.]

[... well, hard to argue with that.] Fair enough.

I'll just leave it to you then.

Good luck out there.

[Enjoying himself though he might be, he says that seriously. It's important to not do all the work for the cadets, let them learn, but he'll regret any serious injury bitterly.]

[Minato just nods at this. If this Instructor expected more of a reaction, he should have better luck with Junpei or Akihiko... wherever they were. Still, he can tell he's taking the best course of action.]

Got it, sir. Though, will you be fine guarding the dorms by yourself?

[SeeD or no, those Blue Dragons look nasty and they can attack in pairs.]

[Reactions mean nothing, actions mean everything. So long as everyone comes through all right, they can sneer and mock if they want to. But he does give the question the respect of a detailed answer.]

Worst that can happen, I'll have to fight defensively till enough people can rally and get it under control. Got a trick or two I can pull out if I have to.

[Minato just had to know, and he's glad he got a detailed answer for that. Anyway, he's been in this world long enough to know no one makes SeeD on bravado alone.]

Don't we all?

[He turns and skewers the Bite Bug that was about to charge at his back. He could have summoned a Persona, but best to save them for when he really needs it - this could be a long day.]

...we'll have to secure our supplies once everyone's accounted for, though.

Ugh. Yes. We need a clear path from here to the Infirmary, and people out canvassing the likely safe spots. Pick one?

[Yes, he'd just charged in without a plan. Heroes don't need plans!]
