[Minato notes the two obviously new students going over their schedules. Silenced or not, he decides to go greet them, his notebook and pen at the ready.
Thankfully, their uniforms and chatter mark them as Japanese - that should make his side of the conversation go a little more smoothly.]
I'm sorry to interrupt, but if they're pulling together all of these "super-powers", then why on earth would they take me?
'I knew that she'd just say that she was clearly brought here to be their leader, so that would have been a waste of a question. Then again, she'll probably just say I'm here to be her lackey as always.'
Oh, I decided to be a hero too! Which is why I need to know magic and how to use weapons, especially bladed ones. Ah! Kyon, did you see what they wrote about "gunblades"? Those look cool!
I don't want to use a gun or a sword, so why would I want to use any combination of the two...?! And I definitely don't want to be some kind of caped hero.
[Looks over the schedule... and honestly, he can see Haruhi's point - only Self-Defense as an practice subject?
He takes some time to write out his response.]
Getting Garden Code out of the way is fine, but you also need to have Weapons Training, Magic and PMGF there - if for no other reason than to have access to the advanced classes right away.
Also, it's not a good idea to assign too many theory-heavy classes in one quarter.
I really don't want to take any of the advanced classes in that sort of thing. I honestly don't care about learning magic or using a weapon to begin with.
[ Still, with being outnumbered now, he's second-guessing some of his choices. Looking over his schedule again, he sighs and points, again, to Limit Break Theory. ]
Then maybe I'll get rid of that, and take MAG101; Intro to Attack, Recovery and Indirect Magic. Happy?
[He can't believe Kyon's such an unrelenting wall at this - then again, from what he's seen of Haruhi, he'd have to be either that, or a total doormat to be around her for as long as Minato's guessing he has.]
If you're just going to pick one, choose Weapons Training. That way, you can take an intermediate class on the next quarter, and then just focus on the classes for a non-action specialization. [He writes something else for Haruhi.]
So, Haruhi, you're interested in learning to use a gunblade, right?
I'm going to try everything! Of course, the default weapons for the hero are swords and blades, so those are the obvious choice for me~ firearms and such are for the cold, quiet loners!
The introductory classes are compulsory anyway, aren't they? Even if I do weapons training first I'll still have to do MAG101 at some point, so the order isn't that important.
[ He's just... choosing to zone out Haruhi for the time being. ]
The order isn't that important, unless you want to plan ahead for your specialization. Since most specializations need an intermediate course and the intermediate magic classes need MAG101 and PMGF101, you're better off doing WTR101 first to get the intermediate course out of the way. [Writes the next part for Haruhi - abrasive personality or not, he likes the fact that she's willing to try everything.
Though the only gunner he knows is Irvine, and he's neither cold nor quiet.]
And no better choice than the more unique blades, right? Though mastering gunblades requires taking Intermediate Firearms as well as the Bladed classes.

SeeDs have experience with averting the apocalypse.
[And he hopes he gets to gain a little experience in that too, for when he gets back home.
Though he can't help but grinning at Kyon's protest, despite himself.]
But Kyon, every superhero team needs a guy who's regular.

[She glances at Kyon.]
But ordinary people like you are probably just food for training monsters or something.

[ He facepalms with a quiet groan, shaking his head once more. Why him? ]
I'm so glad that my role's been set out for me already.

Go ahead; I've already decided to be a hero if needed.
Also, Kyon, if you apply yourself, you could be the type of
regular guy who's more like Batman or something. What
classes are you guys taking?

See, I told you! Take the magic classes! Even if you are going to suck at them!
