I said I would have a real post.. so here one is.
I'm nervous. therealljidol will have week 5's poll up soon. I'm not certain how I will do. I haven't bothered to check the competition and I refuse to do so until the last day of polling. Hopefully I will do ok.

Things have been.. meh. I made some fudge yesterday and gave over half of it away. I don't even know ( Read more... )

Well, you're not in the scary tribe this week. ^^ That's a plus! :D

Yaknow... there's something about pain that can't be substituted... I do know what you mean there.

And I SO want to get a tatt one of these days! :D But my skin's so hypersensitive I'm really nervous about it. :\ I'm thinking about them putting a freckle somewhere first, to make sure they're not gonna get halfway through my design then have to stop... that would SUCK SO MUCH.

I found that tattoos are different for everyone.
Of all the places I have mine, I have to say the tailbone and the ankle hurt the worst. The easiest one for me was the one on my arm (which I have plans to add to). But anything placed where the bone is close to the skin hurts like hell. I was literally biting a pillow when I had my friend Chris give me a tribal snake around my ankle. I want to touch it up, but I remember being in tears. And that was *years* ago.

Yeah pain means nothing to me. I mean, I was walking on a broken foot for months. Even if it hurt like your snake did, I'd at least tough it out to finish it... maybe if I don't touch it up later, either! XD I'm just afraid my skin's going to hive up and make it impossible to "drill". :\

Hey. Question! Do you know if there's any superstitions about placements of tattoos? I've been wanting to look up a good place to put mine, and I want it to have spiritual meaning, if that makes any sense. I'm sure it sounds silly, but I want to give it a try (research) before I just put it anywhere. :)

Not that I know of... unless you count the tear drops on gang members. I know that in Thailand there is all sorts of lore about what tattoos to put where (totem animal for strength would go over the heart, totem animal for charm would go on the inside of the arm, ect....) But if you have a specific design in mind, I doubt it would fall under that category.

To me, the placement of the tattoo is not as important as the reason you are getting one. The one on my back has a very specific meaning that is personal and it is one I share with Vampy. We each have one, his is not as decorative nor as large as mine and is placed on his inner wrist. (And despite everything he and I have been through, it is my most cherished tattoo and I have no regrets about getting it.)

I don't self injure anymore, but i have wondered what it would be like to do the whip across the back thing.

You're welcome m'dear! I'm so pleased you got your card (and actually impressed with our Royal Mail, amazed that you got that card so quickly..!)

I'm kind of just-a-little wishing I was one of your neighbours with all your fudge and baked goods ;) Even though I don't eat sweet things all that often, sounds divine! x
