A hamster in a maze.

I've been watching a lot of Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzuke on G4 this week. The former is too repetitive, but the latter is fun. I love a good obstacle course. So I watched Wipeout on NBC Tuesday night, and that was a big disappointment. Not so bad with the mute on, but the commentary is just too mean-spirited. I enjoy schadenfreude in ( Read more... )

I agree with you on Mad Men, although I enjoy it on a artsy level - when I watch it I'm in awe - but I don't enjoy it on a "fun" level. I'm not super excited to watch it, I just do. It's actually kind of depressing to watch sometimes. Every time I watch it, I wonder if *anyone* will be *good* in the episode - no craziness, no cheating, etc. Also, do you sometimes find the acting oddly stilted, like you're watching an old movie? Did people actually talk to each other like that? The biggest offender is Pete Campbell, he just seems so uptight all the time.

Yeah, that's a good way to put it. For me, it's almost like broccoli -- I know it's good for me, but I don't really want to eat it (though it can be quite delicious sometimes.) And yeah, the writing IS rather stilted, but I hope that like so many other period details, they're doing it for effect.

AAAIIII on Mary!

I have no opinion on Best Actor drama.

I must support the awesome cast from Damages.

Huh. Ted Danson is supporting and not lead? I guess they thought he would have a better chance there? The character was unquestionably the lead along with Glenn Close. I do hope he gets a nom. He shocked the hell out of me by being awesome.

Zeljko Ivanek!

Other then the Office people. I really don't care about The Office categories. That's a little sad.

Come on Emmy, how about some nice surprises this year!

I thought the acting on Damages was wonderful, and they all deserve kudos. I'm just iffy about Byrne because she was too bland until the last few episodes.

And yes, some surprises would be quite welcome. :)

Mr BQ and I have been watching tons of Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzuke too! It's just so mindless and entertaining. And I love that you get everything from olympic athletes to average people on UB.

Oh, definitely. And I love how the announcers cheerlead every single one of them (unlike the "let's mock the contestants" policy on the American versions.)

It's great to see Mary on this list. If Katee can't get a nomination than at least Mary can.

I was going to do the poll and then I realized that I couldn't because I don't watch any of these shows. I have this rather...odd...unique talent of knowing what's happening on almost every show on television but because I don't watch them I have no idea if they're actually good or the actors are deserving of an Emmy so...sorry, no poll participation for me. :-)

I know what you mean. ;) I DO watch a ton of television, but not many of the shows that are nominated. I'm sure the actors are great, but it's hard to get excited about many of them.

They do indeed! I did laugh at one comment - when someone asked "Where's the Bamber?" someone replied with "hidden below the frame." Haha, aw; he's pocket-sized.

Katee looks gorgeous and I want to see more pics of her, in-focus this time.
