I'm pretty excited about the Oscars tonight. Yeah, I'm a sucker for awards shows, but there's still plenty to like about 'em. As I said before, I absolutely LOVED The Artist, so I look forward to it winning everything, complete with fabulous speeches in French accents. It was a pretty good Oscar outing this year. Octavia's standing O made me cry, The Artist pwned all, Hugo got much love, my long suffering Meryl Streep got much deserved props for Maggie, Cirque du Soleil was the best gratuitous bit EVER, Christopher Plummer FINALLY got some Oscar love, and of course, Bret had it goin' on.

If only they would get rid of Billy Crystal. When pretty much every single presenter gets more genuine laughs than the host, you know his moment is over.
