1. All my knitting this week seems to have given me a touch of tendinitis in the middle finger of my right hand. It's fine when I curl my fingers slightly in a natural position, but I feel shooting pains when I make a fist or extend it. (Guess I won't be flipping anyone off soon!) Do you have a nice snug right-hand glove you can wear when you're not using your hand? I have the same problem, which started when I was crocheting, and having the hand supported by a glove helps a lot.

The treatment for tendinitis is rest, anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen and either heat or ice (heat for chronic inflammation, ice for acute). I would ice your hand for about 5 minutes (a bag of frozen peas works great), take some ibuprofen, and avoid knitting for awhile. The ice and rewarming helps with the blood flow to the affected area.
I have tendinitis in my right hand which flares up from time to time, and this is what I do. (I also checked with the Merck Manual and it makes the same recommendations).

The British certainly have some good food products that can occasionally be found in American stores. Currently I have a thing for cookies/bisquits called Hobnobs.

Hee. I have to be honest and say that I've got Low Country News 2 (local NBC) on speed dial because they are weather insane and they've preempted things like the Masters and the Open for half an hour of fancy gadgetry depicting the likes of lightning strikes and the weather cam from the Ravenel Bridge. Certainly interesting, but not when a Moving Day or Sunday leaderboard is crammed chock full. I programmed the speed dial when the number of times I called to complain was more than two handfuls ( ... )
