Aliens in the Snow
Last time: Our alien-cutie-patootie founder, Ahryl Floosby, bought a quaint little farm and settled in. She met the man of her dreams, Ois Nenemos (by maranatah), while mini-golfing and the two fell in love rather quickly and were married even more quickly. They spent their honeymoon days gardening and fishing.
This time they'll continue to work on the gardening and fishing goals of generation 1, and when winter comes and puts their plants to sleep and freezes the lake, Ahryl and Ois will work on other things, like making alien sproglet babies!
Ahryl finally became a plantsim after spraying so many plants and trees. It didn't take as long as I thought it would, but she's my first plantsim so I was rather excited. And she's still pretty cute!
Becoming a plantsim had two big benefits right away: Ahryl received an immediate gold gardening badge, and she got the ability to talk to plants. She already had a silver badge in gardening so it was close to happening anyway, but this speeded things up a bit. As for the talking to plants ability, that is super helpful. From that moment on, all of her plants were thriving.
Ois didn't seem to mind that his wife was green and leafy all of a sudden, although he is an alien so he's probably seen much worse than a green, leafy plantsim. The couple continued being super cute, and finally became pregnant with their first sproglet.
Right around this time Ahryl's first crop of plants were finally ready for harvesting. She had hundreds of tasty tomatoes after this harvest. She sold some and kept others to make juice with. Tomato juice warms your sims up, which is good for the Floosby's because winter is coming.
Her orchard was heavy with fruit too, so Ahryl really made some money this time around.
Another great benefit about being a plantsim: a lot fewer needs to worry about. This is really helpful when you've got a pregnant plantsim, because it's so easy to take care of their 3 needs: sunlight, water, and love. While her plants were happily growing, Ahryl was able to dig for treasure to help supplement the family's income in between harvests. And she was able to keep her sunlight need up at the same time.
While Ahryl was busy working on her garden, digging for treasure, and making a baby, Ois worked on his fishing (big surprise there!). He finally got a gold fishing badge and caught all of the fish needed for the generation 1 goals except the golden trout. He also learned how to make some pretty yummy fish dishes, although he sold most of the fish he caught. But he always saved one to frame and hang on the wall, and a few for meals. The couple really didn't go through a lot of food at this time because of Ahryl's plantsim-i-ness which meant that she didn't need to eat at all. I think I'm starting to fall in love with plantsims! They're so easy!
Winter finally arrived on the Floosby Farm, and the couple had a much needed break from all their farming work. Ahryl's orchard was dormant and she held off on planting a new crop until the spring. Ois' fish pond was frozen over, so the couple got to focus on other fun things during this winter.
Ahryl started working on her charisma skill, since that skill is supposed to help with gardening. Although I think it only helps the sim gain their badges more quickly...oh well. She usually did this when Ois was asleep...since she never had to sleep herself. I told you, I love plantsims! Easiest pregnant sim ever.
They did have a very frequent guest during that winter season. This little penguin just about lived with them during this time. He got along really well with Ahryl.
But I'm pretty sure it was all just a ploy to get to Ois' hard-won fishing plaques. Silly penguin, fish are for aliens.
And then their quiet and relaxing winter season came to an end when their little baby was born! The newest Floosby is a little boy named Celder. He has his daddy's yellow skin and black eyes. His eyebrows are the same as Ois' too, so I figured that meant he inherited Ois' yellow hair too, although I kept him bald for awhile because he's just so darn cute!
With a third sim joining the house, Ahryl and Ois built a new nursery for their baby boy and they also updated the office. Ahryl will have to start digging again because her plants won't be ready to sell until the end of spring and these additions wiped out their money!

Celder's baby days fly by and he becomes a very good-looking toddler. I just knew these two would make cute babies! And the observant reader will notice that Ahryl is indeed pregnant again! They have to have a boy and a girl to complete the generation 1 goals and they have to keep having babies until they get one of each, so it's best to get started early.
Celder was so cute bald that I kept him that way during his toddler days. I also forgot to put the green dots on his face like Ois has, but a little later on I finally remembered so you'll see him change in the next few updates.
Being so easy to take care of, Ahryl was the parent who did most of the toddler training and entertaining. Her favorite thing to do in the whole world was dancing with Celder to the radio.

Even Celder makes friends with the penguin who is still hanging around. He might as well rent a room from the Floosby's because he never leaves!
