A Green-Thumbed Alien
I had such a blast doing my Pollination Exploration project at pixel_trade that I just couldn't pass up doing the next part of it. It is a Differences in the Family Tree challenge using the end product of the pollination project as the founder. This is supposed to be a really long challenge, and I'm not going to even say that I'll finish all 16 generations...but we'll just take it one generation at a time and see where it goes! So, I picked the utterly adorable Ahryl to be my founder. She was one of 5 "end products" from my pollination exploration project, so she counts!

Meet Ahryl Floosby. She's a playful gal who really should be working on the generation 1 goals rather than playing pirate in the bathtub. She's a Family sim with a LTW to Reach Golden Anniversary, which is actually a possible LTW to achieve for this generation so she got lucky!
Ahryl bought a small farmhouse on lots of land to begin her alien dynasty. The generation 1 rules all have to do with gardening and fishing (see bottom of post for details), and in fact Ahryl and her spouse cannot do anything but garden and fish in order to make money.
And so, Ahryl jumps right in and starts working on her little garden and orchard. I've never really played with gardening or anything that goes along with it, so this will be a first for us both. Luckily, I found this handy farmer's guide to help me through it! Ahryl starts by planting tomatoes and she has one apple, one lemon, and one orange tree.
With her garden and orchard started, Ahryl heads down to the local mini golf park (an absolutely splendid lot made by selenaq13) to work on the next goal of generation 1: find a spouse. The poor girl can't even woohoo before she gets married, so we need a spouse pronto! She's a little disappointed when she sees two of the available men have already fallen in love with each other, clearly diminishing her pool of would-be spouses. (Hershey by needlecream and Alfie Bleu by rhiannon_alexis). In the background are Woebegone by katu_sims and Alma by huning. Both are deliciously adorable.
But Ahryl quickly gets over her disappointment when she spots the man of her dreams...Ois Nenimos by maranatah. He's a cutie-patootie for sure!
Ahryl and Ois hit it off pretty well right from the start and even get a little romance going before night even falls on her very first day in town.

Ois comes over for a "date" the next night and they have a lovely conversation over comfort soup.
Not your typical idea of a dream date...
...but it seems that Ois liked what he saw in that bathtub, so a dream date it is. They're aliens...they're allowed to be a little weird from time to time.
Not too long later, Ois is back for another date and this time he's here to stay! Ahryl thinks those yellow-colored genes are just too good to pass up. And she really wants to woohoo, so they've got to get hitched.
And get hitched they do, not even two seconds later.
Ahryl goes to bed happy that night, after finally getting some action. Cutest. Couple. Ever.
Having another person in the house means we can start working on the fishing optional goals of generation 1. So Ahryl is in charge of the gardening and Ois is in charge of the fishing.
And they both raise their skills pretty quickly. Ahryl's already at a silver gardening badge, while Ois is close behind her with a bronze fishing badge. Ahryl's tomatoes and trees are just about ready to harvest, which will knock off 4 things off the "grow goals", and Ois has caught 3 of the 8 fish. Not a bad start at all!

- never have a job, live off the land (so far, so good)

- optional: catch every type of fish (still need blue catfish, jumbo blue catfish, rainbow trout, jumbo rainbow trout, golden trout)
