Memorial Day, Balticon, and Summer School

May 24, 2007 21:22

This is the first year in several that nightwolfwriter isn't a guest at Balticon. Sad, really, because it's a local show. I was thinking we weren't going into the city at all, but some friends of ours want to go. nightwolfwriter will probably tag along for the heck of it. I haven't decided what I want to do yet. It might be fun to go up for a day and see if I can catch up ( Read more... )

I'm so glad to hear that the school issues are resolving themselves! I hope you are able to have fun looking at houses! The schedule you're going to have to keep is lame, though.. too bad your dh has to work "normal" hours and can't do that, because he'd probably be in heaven. ;-)

I'm supposed to be helping my brother pack, so I should probably go do that, but I thought I would drop you a line. I miss hanging out with you guys already! (I'll be calling you to try to find a good time for us to come up and visit soon, I'm sure. :-) ) Have a great long weekend!

Well hello! Hope you're enjoying your trip and getting lots done!

Yeah, you're right. nightwolfwriter would probably dig on that schedule more than I would. Too bad the summer school classes aren't being held at the school just up the street from us. Then the dd could just walk home!

Come visit any time you like. You know where we are. For now... ;-)

I'm debating going myself for a day. If you do go, let me know so I can settle on a day of the weekend to write off for general errands and sleeping in. :) It's a sad thing when you weigh a convention against sleeping.
That summer school schedule sounds like it'd definitely be bad for the regular schedules. I'd offer to help, but my vacation isn't for ages yet.
I'm also glad to hear that your life is straightening out. Ah well, I'm going to go off and figure out when to go see Shrek III this weekend, and actually draw up an errand schedule.

Hi, you! Long time no see! nightwolfwriter and I are supposed to go look at a couple of properties today, so one or both of us will probably go to the show tomorrow (Sunday).

We were thinking about seeing Shrek 3 this weekend, too! Just haven't figured out where/when. If you're thinking of going around here or up at Muvico, let us know--maybe we can arrange to meet. :-)

Summer school is a necessary evil, I'm afraid. The heck of it is, not only is the schedule insanely inconvenient, I have to pay tuition, and there's no transportation option (even for a higher fee). (Annoyance, annoyance...)

Ah, well. Never a dull moment! At this rate I'll finish my fic once I retire and everyone's forgotten about it!

I was thinking of Muvico. I haven't quite decided when, as I've been rather open ended on it, so if you have a time you'd prefer, let me know. As I'm trying to shepherd mom, though, it might not be the best idea. I love her to pieces, but she's easily distractable, and I'm not sure she won't try to wander off in a mall ( ... )

Coming over? perivayne May 27 2007, 15:12:28 UTC
Well if you're coming, let me know via cell phone or email. I'm online throughout the con, so I can coordinate with you... :D

Hi, Perivayne. I guess you've figured out by now Balticon just wasn't happening for me this year. The daughter unit went on Saturday with April and her family and by all reports had a fine time. Don't know what I did to the back, but it was complaining big time.

I did try to call, but never could get through--not even to your voice mail. :-( Don't know if that was poor reception at Hunt Valley or my phone being a pain.

Online....

Great. I didn't even think about e-mail. Sorry. I get more distracted than usual when I have a houseful of people. :-(

no problem...Balticon 41 was quite the little drama bomb...heheheheh

With the problems that developed over the course of the run-up to the con, I find myself now even higher in the power echelon behind the con.

Scary, that.

We hope to change over the panel/participant process to a more open system, with the participants invited from a picked list, rather than the free-for-all that it's been. If Rich is interested in 42, have him give me a shout. Sue and I are now in control of the participant selection process. And this time, I won't be overriden by the old guard, since I rank them.

We are planning on early invitations being sent out in October. Preliminary Schedule is be Feb 15th, with it going up on a secret site for review by March 1st.

I absolutely refuse to sit here for 35 hours doing the pocket program while schedules trickle in to me piecemeal a week before the con. grrh!

But enough on that! Hope the back is better!

Take care!
