I pretty much love all of Doctor who this season. The cowboy episode was not amazing, but I was in a constant state of squee carried over from the dinosaurs, so I didn't really care that much. And Amy was pretty awesome in it, so.
BUT THE POWER OF THREE WAS FANTASTIC. And Rory kissing the Doctor was indeed v. sweet. It seemed very genuine, too, and not just like a "tease the slash shippers" moment. Everything about that episode was sweet, ahhh. Ponds, I love you, why do you have to leave?
Really, I'm not asking for anything Deep from DW right now, I want the squee and the happy, and it's giving it to me in spades.
Yes! A really genuine moment--I really enjoyed Rory particularly in this episode; he's grown into himself and his relationship with the Doctor has become less an extension of Amy's and more his own, which is brill.
The beauty of the way the Ponds have lived, though, is that there is ALL SORTS OF ROOM for more adventures with them in fic and elsewhere.
It is definitely delivering on the squee and happy. And I think it is saying things under the surface, too, if you care about it being Deep.
Rory and Amy have both grown up a lot, in really lovely ways! I especially liked seeing Amy and Rory together at home--it seems like they've finally gotten to the point where they can tell each other that they care when they're not nearly dying, and not be startled by it.
That is true. There are many opportunities for ficcing and such. :)
Ben Browder is made of fabulous. I'm just sayin'. As for last night's episode....oh gods.
PS. I vote for plotzing and reading. But I speak/type as someone who worked out at 7:30am, did laundry then drove C to the airport so now it's PJs and fic all the way. ;)
