Eden liked the snow, as a rule. It was a pain for the pets and Origami still seemed to find it pretty confounding, but for her, it was nice, one of the few things she'd liked about where she grew up. She liked the sun, but it was nice to have some change in the seasons, even a mild one. Everything around here had been so confusing lately, up and ( Read more... )

And so another snow came. Gideon had actually forgotten it was December before he woke up to see his hut looked like something out of a fucking cartoon. What was really sad, what said how damn long he'd be on the island, really, was that he just went with it. What else could he do?

He'd headed to the Compound, bundled up in one of the many lame sweaters he had now, since there wasn't all that much to do in his hut besides stare at the pink walls. He had his own plan of finding shit to watch so he didn't have to go out for a while. Seeing Eden there was unexpected but not unwelcome.

"Find anything good?" he asked, squatting down next to her so he could take a look at what was being offered. He had a feeling he was going to regret not bringing at least one of his own up.

"You didn't bring something?" Eden asked and clucked her tongue, mock-chastising. "Nothing much here. Nothing appalling, but nothing I'm in the mood for either. You have something in mind?" She hoped for something familiar, one of those movies she already knew well but could always watch again, but she supposed she would probably wind up settling for 'not horrifyingly bad.' It was unsurprising to see Gideon here, but she was pleased nonetheless; this kind of thing was always more fun with him.

"I was hoping for some new shit," he said, already scanning the titles. There was no fucking way he was going to trudge back to his hut now, so what was being offered was it, really. "Man, there's a lot of Christmas specials here."

At least it wasn't all cartoons. It could've been worse.

"God, I know." Eden rolled her eyes. "I didn't know there were so many." Some of them were old standbys, things she'd watched every year as a kid, but others, she didn't think she'd ever heard of. After her time, maybe, or long before it or from some other reality - it was always tough to tell around here. "This place really gets into the holiday spirit."
