Ok, so I have a confession to make.  I don't like John Steinbeck.  If you've known me since middle school, you prob'ly already knew this.  I've been told he's a fantastic author 'n that The Grapes of Wrath is amazing, but I'm sorry: The Red Pony ruined him for me.  No one in my class liked it - I didn't even like it, 'n I normally like just about ( Read more... )

And you know of course, you can write the sequel one way and then have a separate version that could be 'canon compliant'. But, as another friend of mine is so fond of saying: "screw canon!" (well, some of it anyway.)

So very glad you gave us "MKB-verse" and all I'll say in my defense of being among those who want more is, well, it's your fault for writing it so well in the first place! (hee) :D

...egads, why didn't I think of that? That I just might do, 'cause I already know what I've got planned for the sequel ain't gonna match canon (kinda hard to, what with how it's meshing with MKB).

xD I'm blaming the plunnies. Or the characters. 'Cause candy--chan said once that when it comes to fanfic writing, what we do is take the characters 'n play with them like puppets. I'm actually starting to believe that it works the other way around, 'cause it seems the more I write the more it's just the characters taking on a life of their own. (And if I was still seeing my therapist she prob'ly would never have cleared me if I told her I considered myself a puppet to fictional characters...)
