Lovely and bittersweet and multi-layered. I love the imagery and the descriptions of meditation and the perspective of Daniel's dreams. I love how they come to each other from these places of separate, isolated suffering and find a personal/spiritual unity before they take it to bed. (Sorry they had to have a few drinks first, but that gives it a pleasant blurry buzziness. *g* And it seems clear that they'd have gotten there anyway.) 'the magnetic pull and pulse' -- mmm. The way you weave in the different kinds of blending and the different kinds of loss ( ... )

Ohhh, this is the kind of feedback I crave. Thank you so much.

Ack, you know, I didn't even realize that. I wanted them off-base and was hitting the end of the fic homestretch, all I need is one good sex scene and I'll be golden, and it didn't even occur to me that I'd gotten them drunk for first-time sex, which is a cliché I could do without. But I did enjoy writing tipsy!Sam in the final scene.

Jack's reaction seems nicely realistic to me, including the sense I get that he's letting himself be persuaded to keep it off the record.

Yes, totally. I think so too. I think Jack totally doesn't get it, but they are his teammates and can do no wrong. And he's looking for a way to be able to justify it to himself to let them continue.

It also seems realistic that he doesn't join in, even tho that's very sad,

I was very sad that I didn't get to make this OT4 for Meg. Actually, when I ( ... )

lol! It really did give the last scene a dreaminess appropriate to the tone of the rest of the story, and it just worked out that way, and that's totally cool.

and have probably a huge essay on that, how each of them has a species/race their plotlines are most associated with and how that plays into their personality

That is so, so fascinating. I'd love to read that essay! And more fic working through it. Neat.

I'm having a ball reading the 'thon stories too. Great stuff. Kudos for organizing.

I loved the way their voices and characters came through so strongly in this piece - even O'Neill who was barely there. Interesting theory on the races as well.

Thanks so much. The theory on the races totally needs to be fleshed out more.... but thanks for reading and commenting! I'm glad you liked.

He wouldn't have. He loved Teal'c, but the love was far more complicated than hate, more painful than desire and contained both.
And that's kind of the crux of it, right there.

Nicely done. This is a grouping that I have trouble buying most of the time, but I didn't hiccup when reading this. You made it entirely plausible for me.

Thanks so much. I probably have some of the same difficulties with the grouping -- not that they don't have a strong bond sans Jack, especially in S8, but just that the threesomes/foursome with Jack are so much more obvious and that the issues, especially the Daniel/Teal'c issues, are so much more apparent. Originally I was planning to set my fic in S8, but eventually decided to set it much earlier and actually confront some of the things that made it so hard to imagine them together, like FiaD. I'm glad it worked for you. :)

Ohhh! Nice job! It's so rare to see these three as part of a threesome in fic.

Like paian, I love the way you use dream and meditation to bring them together, especially during the final scene.

It's nice that although Teal'c may be formal in address, in his head he now calls them Daniel and Samantha.

But she had all the time in the world and more besides, and despite the stimulation that threatened to overwhelm, she felt curiously calm.

Like coming home. ;-)

In her dreams she knew that Daniel and Teal'c were as different as Lantash was from Martouf, as she was from Jolinar -- as different and as similar.

That comparison was perfect--reconciling Sam's (or Jolinar's) past and present--two lovers in the past, two in the present.

I'd never really thought about each of them being associated more with one of the allies' races before reading this; now it seems so obvious. Thank you for pointing that out via fic!

Mmm, yummy, feedback! Thanks for reading.

The formal/informal address issue is what's absolutely hardest for me about writing Teal'c-ship. Thank goodness it works.

Thank you!

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. :)

I love this triplet. I am a fan of slash, usually with Daniel/Jack, but to throw Sam in with them always triggers a Father!kink alarm in me and Teal'c is such an underused but deep character.

You mentioned the difficulty of writing in Teal'c's voice, especially with formal address, but it was managed beautifully and in a very touching way here.

And the different races insight just boggles my mind. Love that. LOVE. I'm also interested in that essay, if you get around to it. :D

:) Thanks so much for reading and for the nice comments -- I'm OT3ish about Jack/Daniel/Sam (and, um, I *like* daddy!kink, so yeah), but will pretty much write anything that moves, and this particular trio makes me happy.

I'm glad the Teal'c voice worked for you, and that you liked the bit with the different races. *g* I'll let you know if the essay ever gets written or if/when I do another round of the ficathon.
