It's time for some all around upgrading of my personal tech. This weekend my cute little Samsung Moment is going from Cupcake to Eclair. Although my backup utility allows me to back up apps, they evidently don't link back to the storefront for updates. Yeah, I upgraded to Eclair on my Hero last week (I used the leaked version, since getting a download off of HTC's site was, uhm, hard). I'm liking it so far - the biggest annoyance I've had is that the Windows ActiveSync lets your mail server dictate that your phone has to lock and require a passcode when you turn it on.

For backup, I notice that 1TB standalone drives are insanely cheap, I'll probably go to that. I don't really want to get into the habit of backing up into the cloud, to be honest, because I don't trust Time Warner not to impose bandwidth caps.
