In late June, the awesome woman I took this job to work with left the company under her own power. Maybe combative is normal for Panera Dude and he doesn't understand that constant friction makes some people hot under the collar.

Also, didn't he give you a "if you don't like it you can quit" ultimatum? Don't be surprised when those sorts of ultimatums come true...

I've known people for which combative was their SOP. It isn't really happening unless there is disagreement being worked through. And yeah, it takes extra mental space to handle people like that and your job so didn't provide that. Good on you for leaving.

Wow, I think my last XP project experience was in 2000, too. I still tote about the "user story" template we used to capture requirements from back then. Man, I miss those days!
