Wow, what a weekend

Mar 16, 2009 12:55

You can always tell when I have company in from out of town, because I go radio-silent. LT was out this weekend to help me do prep for sil's mom to visit, and to hang out.

Friday I worked from home so we could kibitz. She says it's exactly like talking to me on IM, except I swear more in person, when I am muttering at my software.
lots of details and a bit of vomit )

baz, dancing, lt, church

"The Pain of Disco" is such a completely cool title/name that it simply must be used for something. A band name. A blog about music. Something.

It is a testament to how much Grey vomits that he makes it to the toilet most of the time now. Also, that I find it completely uncommentworthy. He totally tagged one of our Piemas guests who made him laugh too hard.

Sigh.

I hope Thane is less vomity.

Wow, you are amazing. And I have no idea what I'm in for, do I? Boo has not been a real vomity kid, and we've been fortunate in the stomach-flu department. This latest cold had him coughing so hard he threw up the other night, and the poor kid doesn't know what to call it. We were talking about it tonight as we put him to bed with his newly-washed blankets, and he just pointed at his mouth and made gagging noises.

When Grey was about 5 months -- a few weeks ahead of where Thane is now -- he got a mucousy cold. It made him spit up his food, which was breast milk and some solids. And he just never stopped throwing up. On a normal day it was like 3 - 4 times a day, always very cheerfully. We took him to the pediatrician. We took him to a pediatric gastroenterologist at Children's Hospital. (She got a wistful look. "It's so nice to see a healthy baby." He barfed on her, and grinned.) We tried Zantac. Barf barf barf. We went to London, where he puked all over the city. He puked in pubs, churches, the British Museum (near the Sutton Hoo exhibit), subway stations (that one sent a few people feeling), Portabello Road ... you name it. He puked 9 times on the flight home ( ... )
