Church lady sewing

Last night, sil picked me up from work, we collected the Pook, and then he got Baz from school and I flung some dinner at people and chucked a whole bunch of stuff into my sewing bag so I could go sew with the church ladies. Baz's shirt now has sleeves! And side-seams. All I need to do is hems and buttons, for which I needed my iron and my chalk, ( Read more... )

How often do you use chalk when you sew? I don't know as I've ever used it. Do you use it in place of a marking pen?

Almost every project that requires thinking. I think chalk is easier to take out than the pens, and because I frequently have long intervals in my sewing, the marking pens that disappear after a while are not a great plan for me either. So I have a little triangle-shaped thing with a wheel at the tip that I use for lines, and a nifty pointy one for marking circles from patterns.
