Joke from church today

May 04, 2008 20:47

"UCC means Unitarians Considering Christ"

Which is probably only funny to four people on my flist, but the congregation laughed for a full 15 seconds, and there were muffled chuckles for another 30.

Well, I was a UU'er and don't get it. I mean, Unitarians are often Christians. They also often go to a Unitarian church for a different foundation/construct than a strictly Christian church offers.

I find it funny.

I think the UCCers in the church where I rent space would find it less so, but then, it was a reformed church before the UCC was formed.
