It's a couple of tons of metal filled with explosive liquid and high voltages that's travelling at over 30 metres per second.. and that's BEFORE I've messed with it.
Yeah, provided they do actually repair it, and don't just put some additive in the fuel in an attempt to disguise the smoke.
Fortunately the roadworthy lasts 30 days, so if they do put an additive in, it will disappear before the 30 days are up and I can try again :p
I am actually going to take it straight back to my mechanic when I get it back from them and get him to check to make sure that they actually fixed it. If not, they are clearly a perfect candidate for roadworthying your car :p
Otherwise, how long can I keep it registered with SA plates before the police get annoyed? It's not like I drive it much.. (Hell, currently i'm wondering if I can get the insurance as something that says "only driven on weekends, sometimes")
Actually the long-term solution is to get someone to make up a metal plate with a few holes in it, and weld it to the coolant tank, so that I can bolt it on properly.
But you know I won't get around to it for another year.
I think there are other issues that'd come up first if they roadworthied my car; not that anything is drastically wrong, but hey, it's 15 years old so you know they'll find something.

They must be terribly pissed off now that they're having to repair everything for free.. :)
