I am appalled at Cersei Lannister! (and birthday wishes)

Jan 27, 2006 10:05

I'd like to offer early birthday wishes to kitsah!! Happy birthday, dear kitsah! We'll have to have a Lee-tastic celebration (and I'll make Cowboy shooters for you)!

Cersei
The 'appalled' is because I can restrain myself no longer. I've been scribbling notes here and there with my ongoing thoughts of Martin's A Feast for Crows, and I was planning to wait to ( Read more... )

I love how brutally honest he is with himself; how he'll never give himself an easy out.

Yes, it's refreshing. Tyrion is usually (although not always) honest with himself, too. Cersei on the other hand? Nah...

It makes me think that those famously honorable Kingsguard knights that were Jaime's peers - who despise him for killing the King? It makes me think maybe they had shit for honor!I agree with you completely. Which is why I love Sandor Clegane's comment to Sansa about there not being any true knights in the world - it's so true. If these supposed paragons of virtue could permit a monster like Aerys to rampage unchecked, then perhaps Brienne is the only true knight we have, and she's not even a knight ( ... )

Never believe a GRRM character is dead until his or her body is found, burned and buried! Or decapitated. (*sob* Ned)

I don't have too much to add because I agree with your take on Cersei. She is such a fool, but unlike Sansa's early foolishness, it is difficult for me to have any sympathy.

It's interesting the way Cersei becomes more like Robert, both in his drinking and his short-sightedness, although she does it for different reasons.

Oh, I won't believe Davos is dead yet! Just like I don't believe all these crazy stories about Sandor Clegane that are floating about...(and also Martin mentions Davos POV in his postscript, so I have hope, even though that doesn't have to mean anything).

She's becoming more like Robert in her girth, as well. ;) I love how she gets angry at her maids for shrinking her gowns.

Okay, I am finally getting around to responding to this...

I totally missed the thing about Sandor Clegane - so THANK YOU - I've gone back and reread and it makes so much sense! I included it in my final post (attributed to you, of course).

I did understand that Qyburn is creating something awful down there in the black cells, but I didn't pay attention that it might be with Gregor's body, although that makes perfect sense.

Anyway, I finished my "last post" on AFFC, finally - it's taken me quite a while to articulate everything I wanted to say, and I apologize for repeating probably the same points that you've made already. I am so so in love with this series. I want the next book to come tomorrow. How can I possibly wait at least two or three years for more Jaime and Brienne? (because I don't think we'll get much if any of them in Dance)

So here is my ridiculously long final AFFC post. :D Whenever you get a chance to read it, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

"Sometimes they refuse to make the moves you've planned for them. Mark that well, Alayne. It's a lesson that Cersei Lannister still has yet to learn."

I think Petyr might find those words prophetic - Sansa is a wolf, after all, AND a Lady.

And she's learning the art of manipulation from HIM (and he's brilliant, I have to admit) - I wonder if he'll recognize when her loyalties will turn against him?
