I am appalled at Cersei Lannister! (and birthday wishes)

I'd like to offer early birthday wishes to kitsah!! Happy birthday, dear kitsah! We'll have to have a Lee-tastic celebration (and I'll make Cowboy shooters for you)!

The 'appalled' is because I can restrain myself no longer. I've been scribbling notes here and there with my ongoing thoughts of Martin's A Feast for Crows, and I was planning to wait to ( Read more... )

I love how brutally honest he is with himself; how he'll never give himself an easy out.

Yes, it's refreshing. Tyrion is usually (although not always) honest with himself, too. Cersei on the other hand? Nah...

It makes me think that those famously honorable Kingsguard knights that were Jaime's peers - who despise him for killing the King? It makes me think maybe they had shit for honor!

I agree with you completely. Which is why I love Sandor Clegane's comment to Sansa about there not being any true knights in the world - it's so true. If these supposed paragons of virtue could permit a monster like Aerys to rampage unchecked, then perhaps Brienne is the only true knight we have, and she's not even a knight!

I can't begin to describe how sorry I feel for Jaime these days...the frustration of being stymied by his sister at every turn and watching Cersei make such a botch of everything: not just ruling the kingdom but of raising their son as a boy and as a king - I wonder that he doesn't just throw in the towel and ride off after Brienne. But I know that he's trying to regain his honor by holding to his Kingsguard vows, and he doesn't want to betray them again, so he can't do that. But the frustration must be overwhelming some days. And Cersei's cruelty is hideous. How could you love someone that mocks you endlessly and that has zero compassion for what you have undergone and lost?
