That sounds delicious! *___* Well, it does, even if I've never had saskatoon berry jam - the name sounds so pretty it must be delicious. :) (I have a huge fondness for peanut butter/jelly(or jam) sandwiches)
Bentos are just lunch boxes, but in Japan they are often quite beautiful and filled with delicious goodies. When some people pack for the children or loved ones, they like to make them very "cute," so they may make smiley faces on the rice balls or cut cute animals out of vegetables or cheese.
A bento doesn't have to be a beautiful box, but I find that lunch somehow tastes better when it looks pretty. :)
Ahahaha, this made me laugh because this whole bento? Five minutes. The salad was leftover from last night, the roasted peppers & artichokes were leftover from the pizza party on Saturday, and the tomatoes were all washed and hanging around, ready to be scooped into my box by the handful. And I just emptied the fruit container into my bento to finish! :D
See, no effort at all - I was totally running late this morning, so there's no WAY I could have made anything if it hadn't all been there waiting for me. :)
I would love to share, especially the yummy papaya! N really doesn't like papaya because he thinks it tastes like dirt, so I get to have it all to myself! :)
With the exception of my first bento ( shown here), which I bought in a Japanese shop locally, I bought my other three online.
My blue dragonfly Lubesheep bento set (shown here, empty) came from Jbox, which has a decent selection and seems to be a pretty well-known bento/bento supply shop (although stay in the bento section because they sell more adult things in other areas of the site).
My red strawberry bento set, which I haven't yet photographed, and this one, the large pink sakura box, are both from Bento Crazy.

I have no idea where to buy a bento box - I've done some searches here in BC, but I may have to resort to on-line shopping. Where do you buy yours?
